Division 1

CPC Appley took a huge leap towards the Division 1 title with maximum points against CPC Sovereigns whom they beat 7-3. Scott Lawson won three for them although Lee Orton took him to five hard sets, losing the fifth 15-13. George Downing creditably won two, as did Mark Knowles.

Newport Vics A, last seasons champions look certain for third place. They beat Havenstreet A 9-1. Rookley Stallions produced a good result against Ryde Eagles whom they held at 5-5. Ron Kemp won three for Ryde. Luckless Vics B were whitewashed by Ryde Tigers.

Division 2

Rookley Has Beens are champions of Division 2 after a hard 7-3 win against bottom placed Ryde Rooks. Ryde Lions produced a surprise against Ryde Cheetahs whom they beat 6-4. Martyn Garnett unsurprisingly won three and Nick Kelly brought off a sensation when he beat Mike Jose who had been in strong form of late. Ventmen and CPC Stooges fought out an exciting 5-5 draw. Alan Brewster was in terrific form winning three and Dave Williams added the one that saved them from defeat. The Division suffered from weather postponements.

30-Up

In the 30-up competition league leaders Saints 2 were similarly affected, which enabled CPC Hawks to snatch the leadership as the beat CPC Dynamos 23-7; but Saints have that vital game in hand. Vics Terminators defeated Ventvets 18-12, so the big win needed to maintain contact with the leaders eluded them. However, Trevor Percival produced another 9-0 score.
