Results from Week 8 in the Summer League (25 June 09)

RESULTS:

 

Gladiators 4 - Mosquitos 1

Eagles 5 - No Hopers 0

Hurricanes 5 - Rookley 0

Harriers 4 - Bears 1

Vikings 4 - Tornados 1

Warriors 3 - Tigers 2

 

 

Vikings still top the annual summer league after a 4-1 against Tornados, a match in which Alan Hulbert was again unbeaten.

 

Hurricanes went one better as they administered a 5-0 whitewash to Rookley Stallions and so reduced the lead to two points. Scott Lawson and Lee Orton were in suitably masterful form prior to departing to the Island Games in Aaland.

 

Eagles are only a further point away, having inflicted yet another 5-0 on No Hopers. Roger Nevell and Martin Dove were untroubled.

 

Gladiators, in fourth place prevailed by 4-1 against Mosquitos and Paul Freeborn concluded a happy week with two more wins.

 

Harriers defeated Bears 4-1 and John Winkles emerged undefeated.

 

Warriors produced the only surprise of the round as they defeated Tigers who are above them in the table. Mike Jose was the architect of their win, recording successes in both singles and doubles.
