Division 1
Week 9 produced the match of the season in Division 1. CPC Appley overcame CPC Sovereign 6-4. Man of the match was young Scott Lawson who notched a notable treble. He was, however, taken to 11-8 in the fifth set by Don Hobbs, who won two matches. 13 year old George Downing again performed well with two victories. Both teams are now level on points and games difference.
Rookley Stallions had a surprise 7-3 victory over Ryde Eagles. Steve White performed heroically with a hat-trick, ably backed up by Iain Hall, who won two. Newport Vics A remain in third place after a crushing 9-1 victory at Havenstreet A.
Division 2
Rookley HB’s have increased their lead to 11 points after an 8-2 win against CPC Stooges. Paul White was the hero with another hat-trick. He was, however, taken to the brink by Steve Downing, who won two matches for Stooges.
CPC Panthers remain in second place despite losing 6-4 to Ventmen. Alan Brewster and Roy Wiltshire scored the 6 points for the visitors. Saints 1 defeated Ryde Cheetahs by 7-3, with John Worley scoring a hat-trick. Ryde Lions defeated a weakened Havenstreet B 9-1, and Newport Vics C climbed off the bottom with their second successive victory, a 7-3 win over Ryde Rooks.

This competition continues to hot up. Saints 2 lead the table after a 19-11 win at Ventnor against Ventvets. Derek Pittard won 3 singles. CPC Hawks had an excellent victory over Ryde Ravens 19-11, despite a fine hat-trick from Alan Hopkins.
CPC Dynamos produced their best performance of the season with a 15 all draw with Newport Vics NFT. There were two wins for Maggie Preston and the improving Gaus Jilani. No-one was able to stop Trevor Percival who remains undefeated.
