Rookley 4 - Mosquitos 1
Tigers 5 - No Hopers 0
Eagles 5 - Tornados 0
Vikings 4 - Warriors 1
Gladiators 5 - Bears 0
Only two rounds are left in the summer league and three teams have a real chance of honours. Vikings remain on top, but by only one point. They defeated Warriors 4-1 and Alan Hulbert again proved the man of the match.
Hurricanes lacked Lee Orton and Scott Lawson who were at the Island Games, but Jim Hall and Steve Downing proved skilled reserves sweeping Harriers aside by 5-0.
Eagles are a further point behind and again Martin Dove and Roger Nevell made no mistakes against Tornados. Their 5-0 victory keeps their hopes very much alive. Three matches went into a third set.
Gladiators, in fourth place but six points behind did not allow the points deficit to dampen their spirits. They beat Bears 5–0 and Paul Freeborn and George Downing wished that their current form had materialised earlier.
Rookley Stallions defeated Mosquitos 4-1. The latter were above them in the table prior to this match. Rookley had Steve White in their line up, and he proved the formidable performer he has been for thirty years.
No Hopers remain out of luck despite gallant displays by veteran Tom Groves, who gave Ron Kemp a very close match and also had a memorable tussle with Peter Dove. In the end Tigers won by the maximum 5-0.
